Evening MBA

Job Tools and Resources

The Career Services team has the knowledge, tools, and resources to help you pursue your career goals. Booth's Career Services team that is dedicated to part-time MBA students is based at Gleacher Center. They are available during the day and offer programs in the evening before class, on Saturdays, and virtually, which allows students to easily engage. While not an all-inclusive list, below is a sampling of available resources.

JOB POSTINGS

Career Services is actively engaged in employer outreach and development. Job postings span a wide variety of functions, industries, levels, and geographies. Nearly 4,000 jobs are posted annually by companies specifically seeking Booth talent. Approximately one third of full-time job postings target more experienced professionals. In addition, several hundred companies regularly access Booth’s resume database to seek talent directly.

CAREER COACHING

Meet with experienced coaches to talk about a wide variety of topics:

  • When you want to get a job
  • To get help building your network
  • To help you advance in your career

  • When you seek to build your organization by hiring Booth talent
  • To help you if you are having trouble with your employer or taking on new responsibilities for the first time
  • When you reenter the workforce after taking a career break

“Working with a coach to explore my career options and connecting with people in related fields was very helpful. It helped me understand more about the career paths available to me and also gave me a better understanding of different career paths I would enjoy.”

ALUMNI CAREER ADVISORS

Alumni career advisors are graduating students and recent alumni who facilitate small-group workshops and conduct one-on-one advising appointments with job-searching Evening MBA and Weekend MBA students who are targeting entry-level MBA or associate-level roles in industries such as consulting, corporate finance, investment management, general management, product management, investment banking, and marketing.

EXECUTIVE ADVISORS

Select business leaders who are passionate about sharing their experiences with students, Executive Advisors (EAs) represent numerous functions and industries—from consulting and high tech to general management and entrepreneurship.

CAMPUS RECRUITING

Evening MBA and Weekend MBA students can participate in campus recruiting for full-time jobs. Students must meet eligibility and attend required preparation sessions to participate. Campus recruiting takes place in the Autumn Quarter. See the FAQ section to learn more.

STARTUP NETWORKING NIGHT

The Startup Networking Night, hosted twice per year, creates an opportunity to bring a strong community of entrepreneurs and students from Chicago Booth together for a productive night of networking. The reception-style format allows students to visit and informally converse with numerous startups in one location. Typically fifty to sixty startups attend, representing a range of funding levels (from bootstrap to Series D), to connect with Booth candidates to join their teams.

EXECUTIVE-IN-RESIDENCE PROGRAM

The Executive-in-Residence program invites distinguished executives to share their knowledge and experience through candid conversations and small-group advisory sessions. Executives answer career-related questions and provide guidance based on their areas of expertise.

“It’s a great chance to talk with experienced people who I would never get a chance to meet otherwise. The setting allows you to ask questions about careers, advancement, and managing the workplace that can be difficult to ask of people where you work.”
